Ribadu, Akunyili, Sagay for NBA Confab By Chika Amanze-Nwachuku Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commi-ssion (EFCC), Mr Nuhu Ribadu, the Director-General of the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control, Dr Dora Akunyili, and eminent constitutional lawyers, Professor Itse Sagay and Chief Gani Fawehinmi, are among the speakers at this year's Nigeria Bar Association's (NBA) Annual General Conference. The conference with a theme: "The Nigerian Nation: Recipe for Survival," will kick off on August 21, at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Briefing newsmen yesterday on the activities lined up for the programme, chairman of the conference committee, Chief Mike Osuman, said the key-note address will be delivered by Professor Sagay, while the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, Abel Guobadia, will chair the first session with a topic: "Electoral Malpractices and the Future of Democracy in Nigeria." Fawehinmi will speak on "Immunity from Prosecution," while Ribadu will speak on "EFCC Act: Economic Crimes, Problems, Control and Practical Implementation." Other topics for discussion include; The Maritime Law and practice, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Professional Ethics/ Discipline of Lawyers, Responsi-bility for International War Crimes, Peace and Security in the West African Sub-Region, Emergence of Global Satellite Phones, Interconnectivity, Con-flicts, Costs, Network Problems.
