Kogi Debunks Abduction of Deputy Gov From Yinka Kolawole in Lokoja Government of Kogi State yesterday de-bunked the purported abduction of the state Deputy Gover-nor, Mr Phillips Salawu. There were media reports on Monday that the deputy governor was kidnapped by suspected thugs in Lokoja. Reacting to the purported abduction, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Mr Yusuf Itopa, said that the action was fallacious, fictitious and satanic in nature. He said that "the day the deputy governor was said to have been abducted he was in Idah to represent Governor Ibrahim Idris at a function. How was it possible to kidnap and abduct in the state capital while in Idah." He said that "nobody can give the deputy govenor the same treatment meted on Ngige. He, however, explained that "there are politicians that can only survive where there is division and crisis."
