Civil Service Committed to Reforms - Head of Service From Iyefu Adoba in Abuja Head of Service of the Federation, Alhaji Mahmud Ahmed, yesterday reiterated commitment of the civil Service to change and reforms, so that dividends of democratic governance could be felt positively by Nigerian. Ahmed, who spoke while commissioning the office of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms at Asokoro, Abuja, urged its staff to serve as models of integrity, prompt, courteous and adequate service delivery, honesty, accountability and probity. In a release signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Yusuf Addy, he emphasised that as key vanguard for the reforms, the Bureau should create and sustain voluntary submission to change in the service, and carry all along as stakeholders in the reform process. Recalling President Olusegun Obasanjo's expression of confidence in the Civil Service at the recent retreat of federal permanent secretaries in Badagry, Ahmed implored the Bureau to sustain the confidence through diligence in the reform process. The Bureau, which is under the Office of the Head of Service has Dr. Adegoke Adegoroye as its Director General.
