2007: Ex-Lawmakers Launch IBB Campaign From Chuks Okocha in Abuja Erstwhile members of the House of Representatives in the first session of the House yesterday gathered under the aegis of the Eagle Group to launch a campaign for the presidential ambition of former military President, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida. Those at the occasion are the former Speaker, Ghali Na'Abba, Ige Ropo, Birinas Yilkes, Adamu Fanda, Tunde Lakojo, Akanin-yene Eyo, Abdullahi Musa, S. D. Ngada, Apolos Amadi, Gbenga Onigbogi, Ibrahim Zailani, Umar Tanko Kuta, and Ohepo Ejiga among others. Also present at the launch of were serving members of the House, among them Majority Whip, Hon. Bawa Bwari. Chairman of the Eagle Group, Capt. S.B. Shafi said the mission of the group is to rally support for IBB presidential ambition in 2007. Enumerating the qualities which stands Babangida in good stead, the former pilot to IBB said: "Like the Eagle, General Babangida has enormous strength of character. He is sufficiently possessed of great intellect. He is not afraid to make mistakes and he is passionate about the full realisation of the great potentials of our great nation.
