Tejuosho Fire: Eze Ndigbo Donates to Traders Lagos By Andrew Ahiante and Hillary Odenore Igbo traders whose wares were burnt by the fire at the Tejuosho Market penultimate week, yesterday got some reprieve as Eze Ndi Igbo of Lagos Eze Nwabueze Ohazulike led some Igbo leaders to donate N100,000 to the traders and expressed his grief over the ugly incident and called on affected traders to take heart. Ohazulike, who said he was away from Lagos when the incident took place, urged the traders to continue their daily activities as usual, praying that God helps them recover their loses. He advised them to continue to leave in peace and harmony with their neighbours. "We felt very sorry about the fire incident. This is why we decided to pay you this sympathy visit and to offer to you our little relief assistance. We hope it will go a long way to assist you recover from the shock," he said, while handling the money to the traders. Responding, President of the Igbo Traders Union, Prince Chris Ohabieghino, expressed the traders gratitude and appreciation over the gesture and pray God for guidance and protection for the Eze Ndigbo and his entourage. He explained that lots of their members suffered great lost in the inferno, stressing that some of them were yet to recover from the shock. "As we are talking, lots of our members are still counting their loses," he said. However, he noted, they could not for now estimate the lost pending the report of the committee they have set up to look at the situation.
