Govt Set to Privatise Properties Katsina From Jare Ilelaboye in Katsina In fulfilment of privatisation and commercialisation programme going on in the country, the Katsina State Committee on Privatisation and Commercialisation has mapped out plans to put up for sale about twenty unmoveable properties located in Lagos, Kaduna and Abuja. Three of such property would be converted to motels which would be generating revenue for the state government in the future. Revealing this at a news briefing in Katsina, the acting chairman of the committee, Alhaji Sani Sedu Faggo, who was immediate past speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, noted that the committee conducted wide consultation and investigation on the property owned by the Katsina State government in various parts of the country particularly in Lagos, Kaduna and Abuja and resolved to embark on the privatisation and commercialisation of some of the property in question. He said some of the property to be retained include the governors lodges in Abuja and Kaduna while three of such properties in Lagos, Abuja and Kaduna would be converted to motels so as to serve those indigenes travelling to such places and may not have relations or friends to cater for them during their stay in such places. Among the property to be converted to motels include property situated at Kofo Abayomi, Victoria Island, Lagos; Katsina House in central area, Abuja; and a property at 8, Ibrahim Zaki road and Dala road, Kaduna.
