Govt Promises Democracy Dividends for All Akwa Ibom From Efem Nkanga in Uyo Akwa Ibom State government has promised to extend the dividends of democracy to all sections of the people in the state irrespective of their political affiliations. The state Deputy Governor, Obong Goodluck Ekpenyong, made the pledge in his office during a solidarity visit on him by the members of Essien Udim Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ward Executives Forum led by its Chairman, Elder John Udo Udo Idio. Ekpenyong, commended the group for their support which, he said, ensured the massive vote garnered by the from Essien Udim during the last gubernatorial and presidential elections. He enjoined the people of Essien Udim to remain steadfast in their support, stressing that the PDP government of Governor Victor Attah would do everything within its power to justify the confidence reposed in him by the people of the area. Ekpenyong, who said he was overwhelmed by the display of solidarity and love expressed towards him by the people of Essien Udim, added that he would seek opportunities to reward them for their unremitting support and encouragement. Earlier, the leader of the forum, commended the leadership qualities of the deputy governor and expressed solidarity with him in all his future political aspirations.
