Dart Gets Scoring Entry By Femi Solaja Dart Federation of Nigeria's (DFN) bid to take the sport to a greater heights received a big boost yesterday following the decision of National Council for Sports (NCS) to give provisional entry for dart to compete at the National Sports Festival to be hosted by Ogun State in 2006. The President of the federation, Otunba Dayo Bankole told THISDAYSports yesterday that the DFN has already received an official letter to the effect and all hands are on deck to ensure that all affiliated state associations update their number of athletes for the fiesta. "It is a good development to our game because, unlike some other new sports that are still striving to be included as non-scoring at the festival, we are extremely lucky to have been admitted into the main stream at first attempt. "It is a strong indication that our sport will definitely spread to all the nooks and corners of the country within a very short time," the elated president said . Also yesterday, the Lagos state Chapter in their effort to expand the awareness of the game, organised a seminar on 'A Brief on Darts' and it also feature lectures and practical demonstrations which were delivered by seasoned darters as well as sports psychologists.
