NDDC Splashes N12m on Cricket By Ayodeji Fashikun The Niger Delta Deve-lopment Commission (NDDC) has donated the sum of N12million to the Nigerian Cricket Associa-tion (NCA) for the development of the game in the nine state-member of the Commission. Mr. John Abebe, President of the NCA disclosed this yesterday while addressing a Press Conference to unfold the details of the new effort to make the discipline get a firm root in the nation's oil-producing zone. According to him, "We will take Cricket to primary and secondary schools in the nine states. This is one of the biggest one-time donation for the development of the game in the country." "Each state will, after the rains have stopped in November, start with three schools which we shall prosecute with the newly upgraded level 2 young Nigerian coaches who have decided to take to coaching the discipline," he said.
