Shekarau boosts Pillars with N10m By Augustine Madu-West Special Correspondent, Kano   In an effort to boost sporting activities in the state, Kano State government has donated 30-seater bus and Peugeot 504 saloon car worth N10 million to the management of Kano Pillars Football Club. Speaking at the presentation ceremony at the Government House Kano, Governor, Ibrahim Shekarau reiterated government’s resolve towards the development  of sports in the state, explaining that, the donation was in fulfilment of the promise he made to the club towards encouraging them to make Kano proud in  sports. Mallam Shekarau also said the government was also committed to boost sports in schools across the state aimed at identifying hidden talents. The governor congratulated the management, technical crew and the players for their position in the national league and hoped they will  clinch the first position in their remaining matches. He then charged the players to be of good conduct and cultivate the habit of sportsmanship by accepting defeat in good faith and assured them of continued support to attain greater heights. Responding, the chairman of the management team of Kano Pillars, Alhaji Sani Mohammed Usman thanked the government for the kind gesture and assured of the determination to rededicate themselves in justifying the confidence reposed in them.       Copyright� 2002.
