'Reforms Not Targeted at Anyone' From Toba Suleiman in Abeokuta President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday said that the on-going reform of the Federal Government was not targeted at anybody or group of people but was meant at creating a wholesome society. Speaking at the fifth Owu Day festival, Obasanjo stated further that he had no apology to offer anybody who must have felt offended through the Federal Government policy. While expressing that his government would go ahead with the reforms programme, the president said everything must be done for the country to move forward. According to him, the target or the ultimate goal of the Federal Government with his reform policy was on how to develop the country. He stated further that since five years ago, government's attitude to work has been business unusual, which he described as the only way to build a new Nigeria. He added that while the reform was going on at the federal level it must equally be introduced at the state as well as the local government level. Describing Nigeria as a country flowing with milk and honey, the president pointed out the need for Nigerians to ensure that the country attained what the Lord has destined her to attain. While calling for unity among the people, Obasanjo said that the community would be ungrateful to God if the people allowed little things to cause disaffection among them. According to him, it is only in unity one can move forward, urging sons and daughters of Owu communities to always work for the development and the overall interest of the people. Obasanjo who described this year's Owu Day festival as most heart-warming, more glorious and fascinating, expressed gratitude to all Owu Obas and several others that made the festival a huge success.
