'Obasanjo's A'Ibom Visit, Beneficial' From in Segun Awofadeji in Bauchi President, Akwa Ibom State Development Association (AISDA), Dr. Ibanga Akpabio, has said the visit of President Olusegun Obasanjo to the state was bound to promote cordial relations and better understanding between the state and the Presidency as well as benefit the masses in the long run. Akpabio, who is also an associate Professor of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, stated this in a statement. He pointed out that the visit has made the President to see the projects on ground himself "as well as allowed the people of the state and government to table their demands before the Presidency for appropriate actions, especially on these areas that would enhance the living standard of our people." The community leader noted that the people in the state, at home and abroad have demonstrated support and love for the President since he assumed office in 1999, particularly during the last general elections in 2003 and hoped that "he would reciprocate appropriately" in the execution of Federal Government projects in the state.
