FG May Equip FRSC Officials - Lawmaker By Oghenekevwe Laba Chairman of Government Affairs Committee of House of Representa-tives, Hon. Dayo Oguniyi, has affirmed that officials of Federal Road Safety Commi-ssion (FRSC) would in the nearest future be provided with arms and ammunition to enable them perform their duties of preventing accidents on the highways effectively. Oguniyi, who disclosed this information during the committee inspection tour of FRSC number plates production facilities in Ojodu, Lagos, said supplying the officials of the organisation arms in future is important because they are getting more involve in issues of national security. He equally emphasised that their separation from Police make it pertinent for them to bear arms to protect themselves and be able to enforce their duty effectively. He noted that they are already preparing a bill to be sent to the House of Representatives for discussion, adding that once it is approved, the organisation would start bearing arms.
