Saraki Gives LG Bosses Marching Orders on Devt Local Government Chair-men in Kwara State have been asked to submit their action plans to the state government within one month. The order was issued at the weekend by Governor Bukola Saraki after an emergency meeting with the 16 council chairmen in Ilorin. Miffed by the seeming inactivity at the council level, Saraki asked the chairmen to produce before end of August, their programmes on rural electrification, water supply and agriculture. "We have waited long enough trying to carry every one along, by September the state government will go ahead with its electrification projects," Saraki said. Specifically, he directed the chairmen to submit their plans on rural electrification, provision of water in all villages, and assistance to farmers at the grassroot. Dr Saraki disclosed plans to establish agro-processing cottage industries for cashew, cassava and tomatoes and urged the chairmen to seize the opportunity to provide employment for farmers and youths in their area.
