Lawmaker Advises Niger Delta Youths From John Iwori in Yenagoa A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Mike Kalango, has enjoined youths in the Niger Delta region to make dialogue their watchword in the pursuit of their grievances. Kalango, who represented Brass Federal Constituency, spoke against the backdrop of youth restiveness and other negative vices prevalent in the oil and gas rich Niger Delta region. He stressed the need for dialogue in conflict resolution and urged the youths in the area to embrace education, pointing out that it is the only way they would become good ambassadors of the region in future. The lawmaker, who was in the area on a thank-you-tour, observed that no meaningful development could take place in an atmosphere of chaos and insecurity. Said he: "The futility of violence is that at the end of the day when a lot of lives and properties must have been lost, you will still come down to the roundtable to settle. It is therefore better to embrace dialogue instead of violence in the pursuit of your grievances."
