Akande, who died on in the early hours of last Sunday, was the prosecutor in the high-profile Bola Ige murder case. He was also the sitting Chairman Body Of Benchers. Among those who visited the widow of Akande yesterday, to express their condolence were Prof. Oye Ibadapo Obe, Vice Chancellor University of Lagos (UNILAG), Dr. Sunny Kuku, medical Director Eko Hospital, wife of former head of state, Mrs. Fati Abdulsalami Abubakar, Mr. Segun Bucknor, Prof. Nimi Briggs, Bishop George Amu and a host of others. A 15-minute prayer was held by Bishop George-Amu in honour of the late Akande. In an advice to the family, Bishop Amu said: "The ministry of life surrounds death. God has absolute control over this issue. When my daughter (Amu's daughter) died at the age of 13, I said 'why should my daughter die at that age " "The bottom-line of my advice is that you should put your house in order".
