Addressing MASSOB members at a meeting in Kaduna the provincial administrator of (MASSOB), Kaduna Province, Chief Godwin Omenuko reminded members of the movement of what happened to the Jews who disobeyed God’s order through Moses to stay at home during the "feast of passover" while in captivity in Egypt. "God", according to Chief Omenuko, may not forgive those who will betray the MASSOB cause and go for their businesses on that day." Chief Omenuko told the gathering that the stay-at home protest had became inevitable because of certain unfavourable policies and actions of the federal government of Nigeria. "Some of these policies that culminated in the declaration of the sovereign state of Biafra in 1967 still exist in their harshest form. Some of these policies are clearly targeted at Biafrans.
