Kwara Signs N210m Contract to Refurbish Radio Station

As part of its efforts to improve services at the state-owned radio station, Radio Kwara, the state government has signed a contract worth N210 million with Pinnacle Communication Limited, to refurbish its studio and procure new back-up A.M transmitter.

While signing the contract on behalf of the state government, the state Commissioner for Information and Home Affairs, Alhaji Raheem Adedoyin, said the contract was to reposition the radio station for better services.

He expressed government preparedness to revitalise its parastatals for better performance.

He said government was starting the renovation of its media houses with Radio Kwara, because of its significance in the dissemination of its activities and policies to the people at the grassroots, adding that when completed, the station would transmit throughout the state.

He expressed confidence in the ability of the communication outfit in handling the contract, and urged it to complete the project on time.

He said his ministry had set up a team to ensure that the contract agreements were strictly adhered to.

Speaking at the ceremony witnessed by top government functionaries including the General Manager of the radio station, Alhaji Mahmud Abdulraheem, the Chief Executive of Pinnacle Communication Limited, Mr Lucky Omoluwas, promised that the project would be completed on schedule, having executed such in different parts of the country.

He promised to expose the engineers of the radio station to overseas training, to ensure proper handling of the equipment after completion.

Details of the con tract reveals that Pinnacle Communications Limited would provide three digital studios and a new back-up medium wave transmitter at the Budo-Efo, for better service delivery.
