C/River Establishes Cocoa Farm From Amby Uneze in Calabar Cross River State Government has established cocoa seedlings farm in all major producing zones in the state, as a practical demonstration of its quest to assume its rightful position as the number one cocoa producing state in the country. Announcing this yesterday in Ikom, at the launching of cocoa fungicide-Ridimil Gold, Plus 66 WP, by Syngenta Nigeria Limited, the State Deputy Governor, Elder Walter Eneji said government has put all necessary machineries in place, to address the issue of proper grading of cocoa produced in the state, quality control and export of the product through Calabar Port. To this effect, Eneji said government had trained cocoa farmers in conjuction with Cocoa Association of Nigeria (CAN), on the production and handling of cocoa for improved quality. According to him, government flagged off the distribution of cocoa seedlings to farmers in the state, which were given free of charge.
