Ogun Promises Religious Freedom From Toba Suleiman in Abeokuta Ogun State Government has said it would continue to lay emphasis on freedom of religion without any restriction for the promotion of harmony and peaceful co-existence among its people. The State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, said this in Abeokuta, while receiving Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Nigeria, Abeokuta Circuit, who paid him a courtesy visit at his office. Daniel, who was represented by Secretary to the State Governor (SSG), Alhaji Sarafa Tunji Ishola, restated the determination of his administration to continue to promote religious harmony, aimed at enhancing cordial relationship among faithfuls of all religions. Daniel noted that his administration has been involving both religions in policy formulation of the government. He said the state government believes in the course of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in the preaching and teaching of peace. Daniel said emphasis has since been laid on freedom of religion without any restriction in the state, stressing that his administration has never promoted one religion above the other.
