Daily Times Targets 500,000 Copies Daily "The Daily Times is set to reclaim its pre-eminent position. It is returning as the flagship of Nigerian newspapers", so declared Mr Fidelis Anosike,Chief Executive of Folio Communications, the new owners of DTN. In a hat with pressmen at his temporary Victoria Island Office yesterday, Anosike revealed that new and digitalised machinery would soon be installed and existing ones de-commissioned. According to him, equipment audit revealed that the available machineries and facilities in the Daily Times press are grossly inadequate and outdated for the magnitude of the re-entry envisioned for the newspaper and affiliate publications. Nigerians, he went on, would in the near future, be served by 3 regional printing facilities that would print simultaneously to give effective coverage and circulation depth to all corners of the country. The new Daily Times, Anosike continued, would brood no political sympathies of affliations. It overall mission and interests would be hinged on serving all Nigerians by publishing truthfully and dispassionately, raising the awareness, aspirations and desire of all to good governance and economic prosperity. He added that competent staff of Daily Times would be retained and retrained to new methods and machinery utilisation. The Bureau for Public Enetrprise BPE, is set to hand over Daily Times, Group officially to Folio Communications before the end of August.
