Marwa Installed Soludero of Egbaland From Toba Suleiman in Abeokuta Alake of Egbaland, Oba Oyebade Lipede, has charged the former military Administrator of Lagos State, Brig-General Buba Marwa (rtd) to justify the new chieftaincy title of Soludero being conferred on him by the Egba people by embarking on developmental projects for the betterment of the citizens . The monarch who spoke at the weekend while conferring the Chieftaincy title of Soludero on Marwa and his wife, Munirat, Erelu Soludero said the honour bestowed on the two personalities was in recognition of Marwa's outstanding contributions to the Development of the Nigerian nation. In the address read on his behalf by the Seriki of Egbaland and the Secretary-General Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) Dr. Lateef Adegbite, Lipede further urged Marwa to continue contributing to the transformation of "our domain into a land full of milk and honey, peace and prosperity". During the ceremony at the Ake palace, Abeokuta, the royal father acknowledged the on-going project embarked upon by Marwa in the town. "Marwa has in recent times been involved in development work in Egbaland through his foundation", Alake said. According to him, "for example, he (Marwa) is right now reconstructing and modernizing a primary School in Abeokuta". Describing him a no stranger to Egba with a new name "Omobowale", Alake disclosed that Marwa spent his early years in the city where he undertook his primary education when his father was serving in the Nigerian Army, then known as the Royal Regiment". "We are therefore honouring Bri-General Buba Marwa(rtd) for the outstanding contributions he had made to the development of the Nigerian Nation, in the Military and civil sectors.
