Nigerians Urged to Support Education Kwara A Philantropist and fou -nder of Abdul-Razzaq Education Trust Fund, Alhaji Abdul-Razzaq Ibrahim Salman, has implored wealthy citizens to support education by giving financial assistance to poor students in tertiary institutions, to accelerate education growth and development. Abdul-Razzaq, who is also the founder of Abubakar as-Sidiq Phila -ntropic Home, made the appeal at this year's presentation of scholarship worth N5 million to indigent students, drawn from Ajikobi and Oju-ekon wards in the Ilorin West Local Government Council in Kwara State. About 850 students have benefitted from the scholarship since 2002. The philanthropist, who is also the executive director of world Muslim Congress (WMC), said the November conference of WMC, to be held in Ilorin, would attract financial assistance in the area of education and health. He disclosed that the conference is also expected to approve the establishment of inter-religious centre, devoted to promoting inter-religious harmony among various religions.
