NAPTIP Arraigns 2 over Human Trafficking From Onyebuchi Ezigbo in Abuja National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and other Related Matters (NAPTIP) has arraigned two suspects, Mrs. Sarah Okoya and Constance Omoruyi before an Edo State High Court for contravening the Traffic in Persons (Prohibition) Law Enforcement and Administ-rative Act, 2003. A statement signed by the agency's Head, Press and Public Relations, Mr. Orakwue Arinze, said the two suspects were arraigned on eight count charges of trafficking in persons for prostitution, procurement of persons for prostitution, organising foreign travel for prostitution and dealing on persons by holding them as slaves. If convicted, the suspects would face 10 years to life imprisonment. The lead counsel and Head of Legal Department of NAPTIP, Mr. U. S. Haruna said Mrs. Okoya had earlier trafficked three of her victims to Cotonou, Republic of Benin, enroute to Italy where according to her, jobs had been procured for the victims.
