Cooperate with Youth Ministry, Orphanages Advised Lagos By Fabian Madu Lagos State Commissioner for Youth Sports and Social Development, Honourable Opeyemi Bamidele, has charged all privately owned orphanages in the state to work in conjunction with the ministry, to ensure that every child in their care is given a new lease of life by being fostered or adopted to responsible people for proper socialisation. Bamidele said this at the official opening of Tunji Adebayo Motherless and Abandoned Babies' Home, yesterday in Lagos. He said the law of the state does not permit any individual or organisation to harbour other people's children in the name of an orphanage without proper registration with appropriate government agencies. He also said government is coming up with favourable policy with a defined structure, so that there will not be drop out in schools, stressing that government is striving to pay attention to socio-economic issues, to reduce incidents of abandoned babies and destitutes.
