6 Held over Pipeline Vandalisation Lagos By Yemi Akinsuyi and Eugene Agha Barely 24 hours after the arrest of some Ghanaians and three others over oil pipeline vandalisation in Lagos, police have nabbed more for the same offence. According to the police press bulletin on August 16, at around 9 o'clock, the Police Task Force on Oil Pipeline Vandalisation, led by a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), received information that a group of oil pipeline suspected vandals were sighted at Robert Village, Lagos, holding a meeting. In a swift response, according to the bulletin, the police team swung into action and rounded up the suspected vandals. They are 49-year-old Victor Robert, Sunday Ebodofe, aged 30, Afolabi Baawaye, aged 40, Jossy Ehimola, 30 years, Felix Coker, also 30 years of age, and 22-year-old Front Bak, who is said to have come from Takwabay village, where the police had earlier arrest about seven suspected pipeline vandals. Items recovered from them are four thousand Jerrycans loaded with petroleum products, two thousand empty Jerrycans, two portable generators, two outbeard engine boats, one drilling machine, three screw drivers, and two hammers. Other items recovered include one plug spanner, one axe, nine pieces of allen keys, four iron files, three chisels, and two punch iron machine and other assorted tools suspected to be instruments used for pipeline vandalisation.
