Falcons Scared Us - Ljungberg From Pius Ayinor in Athens Sweden striker Hanna Ljungberg was a relieved woman after her side scraped through to the Olympic qualifiers with a 2-1 win over Nigeria "We were a bit scared going into the game," she said after the match. "But you have to put things like that behind and focus on the game, and that is what we did," she said. Manager Marka Domanski-Lyfors heaped praises on the Falcons. "Nigeria have improved a lot from the side we played against at the last World Cup. I was particularly impressed with Perpetua Nkwocha, Vera Okolo and of course Mercy Akide. I know Mercy from way back, and I coached her during the FIFA All Star game where she scored the winner for me. But I believe the team as a whole have improved a lot and can really go far," Domanski-Lyfors told journalists here in Athens. And she went on to explain how she achieved victory. "We knew we had to play the ball behind the defence as it was causing them so much trouble. We couldn't get it right in the first half, but we kept getting better and I am happy we won." Domanski adds that her side deserved their victory. "We played a hood game today and I am happier today than I was against Japan. We are getting better and I think we will continue to do so." Meanwhile, the grateful Swedish players, who revived their Olympic dreams, besieged the Falcons dressing room after the game to share hugs and handshakes with the Nigerians. "They were all over us. They should be, after all, our loss helped them qualify," said Falcons' goal scorer Mercy Akide.
