Adobe Appointed Software Distributor in Nigeria

WECA Limited, the Adobe distributor and technical support centre for West, East and Central Africa has launched Adobe in Nigeria.
Speaking during the official launch Adobe General Manager for Middle East and Africa, Mr.Andrew Lindstrum, said Nigeria's market potentials, political stability and strong intellectual property laws had made it the logical choice for Adobe to establish its presence in the West and Central African region. Nigeria's intellectual property laws, he said, were stronger than what obtained in South Africa and this, he said, was key to any software vendor in the world.
Lindstrum said Adobe in Nigeria, through WECA limited, would oversee the rest of the West and Central Africa.
He said Adobe's presence would positively influence the region's dire need for knowledge of software and its use. He promised that Adobe would engage in knowledge transfer across the region through its partners, WECA limited.
Lindstrum said Adobe planned to establish lasting relationships with all its resellers to ensure that they sold only legal software. According to him, the company would do a lot of educational campaign to further sensitize and discourage users from patronizing pirated softwares.
Lindstrum said that WECA had enough capabilities to satisfy the local market with Adobe products and services.
In his remarks, WECA limited, Managing Director, Mr. Chuma Ofoje, said his company would appoint 50 resellers to cover the sale of Adobe across the country before the end of the year. He said two value added resellers would also be appointed to drive the company's technology in the country.
WECA recently, introduced the Adobe creative suite into the Nigerian market. The suite is an integrated design environment that combines the most complete upgrade in Adobe's history. It features full version of the tools customers rely on for image editing, illustration, page layout and cross media output with innovative file management features. It also has a smooth Adobe portable document format workflow and comprehensive design resources. The suite creates and publishes content for print and web faster and more easily at an outstanding value.
Ofoje said that the suite was available in two versions. The premium edition combines full versions of Adobe photoshop cs, Adobe illustrator and Adobe acobat. He noted that the standard edition combines photoshop mcs and illustrator cs.
