Starcomms More Focused - Ovia
Leading Nigerian PTO, Starcomms, has been described as a telecom company that is committed to revolutionizing the nation's telecom scene.
CEO Zenith International Bank Plc, Jim Ovia, who said this at the formal launch of Starcomms Data Services in Lagos, added that this move by Starcomms has contributed immensely to the development of the country.
The Zenith boss, who was the Special Guest of Honour at the Starcomms Data Launch, played glowing tribute to the telecom company which began operations in Nigeria in 1997, for pioneering innovative services and quality products delivery.
He noted that this has been the big difference between Starcomms and many other PTOs licensed the same time with it, many of which he said have gone under.
In the words of Mr. Ovia,"Starcomms has been more focused, committed, and demonstrated absolute faith in the Nigerian economy".
These attributes, Mr. Ovia added, were responsible for Starcomms being the first PTO in Nigeria to attain and surpass the 100,000 subscriber mark.
He also commended Mr. Dirk Smet, Starcomms CEO, whom he described as a technocrat who fully understands the telecoms business and how it could be run efficiently.
Starcomms, says its premium data services is targeted at the high end market, especially corporates.
Meanwhile, Starcomms will be sponsoring the Starcomms Happy Hour at the Lagos Motor Boat Club on Friday 20th August. The company is taking the opportunity to display its new data products such as the Wireless Card and the Access Ti, which recently. There will be raffle draws and chances for guests to win the tri-com station and other phones as well as Internet service at the event.
The Starcomms data service have download speeds of up to 144kbps. They also have standard virus protection as well as spam blocking. This mini launch is the first of several which will be taking place at various member clubs in Lagos.
