Guardian Express Now Settlement Bank for CSCS Finance Guardian Express Bank Plc has been appointed as a settlement bank by the Central Securities Clearing System Limited (CSCS), a subsidiary of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, (NSE). With this appointment, the bank would now serve as banker to all stock broking houses in Nigeria for the settlement of their trading transactions. This appointment, a statement from the bank noted, is in further recognition of Guardian Express Bank's strong financial standing and excellent service qualities. It would be recalled that Guardian Express Bank pioneered and still remains the only bank in Nigeria that pays Commission on Turnover (COT). This implies that contrary to the general practice in the industry where customers are penalized for withdrawing their deposits, the bank's customers are rather paid commission for transacting their businesses. In addition to payment of COT on current accounts, Guardian Express Bank was also the first bank in Nigeria to issue 'Guaranteed Service Standards' to customers in which the bank covenant is to pay customers for any breach of its promised service standards. To formally introduce these and other premium services designed specifically for the capital market, the bank is hosting a cocktail for Chief Executives of all Stock broking houses and other capital market operators in Nigeria tomorrow at LA Scala Restaurant (Muson Centre). The Director General of the NSE Dr. (Mrs.) Ndi Okereke Onyiuke will be the special guest of honour.
