Soludo,
you goofed on capitalization
I read one Omoyele Sowore's article
titled,"My doubts about Charles Soludo" on Monday August 9, 2004 in
your newspaper and was touched beyond imagination. Even at the Institute of
Policy Dialogue(IPD) conference in New York, Charles Soludo failed to live up
to expectation despite his assumed wealth of knowledge.
I think it is high time we stopped worshiping this
International Monetary Fund (IMF) body of a thing and develop policies that
will suit our economy.
These imported ideas cannot work here. These same
people suggested Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP)and PRIVATIZATION; these did not work.
Now, it isCAPITALIZATION of banks.To
make matters worse, our woes and poverty are deepening. Banks have started
retrenching and branches are being closed down.Surprisingly, Adams Oshiomole and some Senators have
shamelessly embraced this senseseless policy of capitalisation. What a
pity!If I may ask the
uncelebrated Prof. the following questions ,maybe he will be willing to give me
a quick responce: Where is Jim Nwobodo, his wife and their cohorts after the
demise of Savanah Bank? Where is Olusola Saraki's family and SGB? I think there
are some cabals that are interested in the suffering of the people. The ideas of
this idiotictextbook theorist
should be discarded and he should be warned to stop playing games with the
Nigerian Economy if he doesn't want to leave like Abacha did, untimely.
