He had confessed plucking the eyes of a 10-year-old boy, Salaudeen Mohammed, recently in Bauchi. Sule, 28, was paraded before reporters along with three others for allegedly plucking the eye of the boy, a primary three pupil. The suspect, who disclosed the name of the politician during a chat with reporters had said he was given N2,000 for the job. Briefing reporters on the development, the state Police commissioner, Alhaji Muktar Abbas, said Ibrahim and three others were arrested following a tip-off. Muktar, however, said that another suspect, in connection with the offence, was still at large. Salaudeen was kidnapped and smuggled into an uncompleted building by some unknown persons at Kofar Durmi area of Bauchi metropolis, where one of his eyes was forcefully plucked. An Upper Sharia Court in Bauchi had earlier ordered a convicted ritualist in the state to pay N5.7 million compensation to a 13-year-old primary six boy, Isa Yayaji, for the same offence.
