2007: Audu May Recontest Guber Polls From Yinka Kolawole in Lokoja Indications emerged in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital yesterday that the immediate past Governor of the state, Prince Abubakar Audu, may re-contest the governorship seat in 2007. THISDAY checks revealed that the immediate past governor had recently held a caucus meeting with some local government chairmen in the state with a promise to return them back to their councils come 2007. The source further indicated that Audu has vowed to regain back the Lord Lugard House he built during his tenure. It was further gathered that Audu would in the next few weeks call a meeting of all stakeholders in the state to put his political plans in order. Already opinion leaders, community leaders, traditional rulers and political leaders in the state are behind the move to return Audu to power. Commenting on the alleged plan, an aide to Governor Ibrahim Idris, said the plan can never see the light of the day, adding that the 2007 ticket would surely be for Idris.
