Engineering Body Repairs P/H Roads From Okon Bassey in Port Harcourt Feeling greatly concern about the deplorable condition of roads in Port Harcourt, the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has taken the challenge to assist in the repair of some dangerous and dilapidated sections of roads in the state capital. The state chapter of NSE took the bold step as part of its social responsibility and being sensitive to the yearnings of the people to embark on the exercise through mobilisation of both material and human resources. The society led by its branch Chairman, Engr. Iboroma Zap Akobo, recently commenced the repair and maintenance of the roads by filling of deep broken portion of the Station road near the state High Court premises. THISDAY checks reveal that the bad portion had been a dangerous point that hitherto causes a lot of traffic jam and damages to vehicles as the road is one of the main roads that connects Port Harcourt to various part of the state. Meanwhile, NSE Port Harcourt brance has floated a limited liability company called, Nigerian Society of Engineers Port Harcourt Ltd (NSEPH) to undertake engineering and consultancy jobs on behalf of the engineers in the state. The Chairman, Board of Directors of NSEPH, Engr. O. O. Oruoye, disclosed this during a visit to the University of Port Harcourt, yesterday. Oruoya, who said the 10-member NSEPH board include, Engr. B. T. George, who is to serve as the Managing Director, Engr. Derefaka (Director) and Engr. Saidu Njida (Director) among others would be inaugurated by the National President of NSE, Engr.
