Human Success Depends on God - Badejo General Overseer of The Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Revered (Dr.) Wilson Badejo, has told Nigerians that aspiring to a new height is an uphill task which requires divine help. Badejo made this call during the Festac District's 8th Convocation Programme in Festac, Lagos, saying "Aspiring to a new height is no doubt an uphill task, you need divine help to accomplish this." The general overseer observed that "programmed into the realm of every being is either lowliness or greatness. A movement in divine direction leads away from depreciation unto the height of elevation and a position of greatness. While an unwillingness to move, a lackadaisical attitude or retreat from path divine brings retrogression, frustration and lowliness." He therefore noted that since God does not change and His standard does not change, the only way to remain stable is to be God-ward. The convocation, which was titled: "The Unchanging God," would last between August 18 and 22. In his address, the Church's District Overseer, Revd R. O. Oloidi, enjoined members not to be part of the "corruptionmania, gratificationmania and assassinmania to get to the top," adding that members should pay their tax, vote where it is necessary and participate in politics if you have the calling.
