Human Skulls Found in Ondo

Police in Ondo State said they have discovered two human skulls in two different locations in the state, suspecting them to be victims of ritual murder.
Addressing a press conference yesterday at the command headquarters, the Police Commissioner, Mr. Nwachuku Egbochuku, noted that arrest has been made of an Ayelala priest who is currently under investigation.
The discovery of the skulls was made possible when the police swooped on 4, Market road, Ode-Irele, where one Taye, alleged to have been in possession of the skulls had bolted away.
The police arrested one Akinyemi Adeya along some materials like wooden box and some yards of blood-stained clothes.
The Ayelala priest, according to the police, was a resident of 24 Oke-Eju street, Ajue near Ore and was alleged to have removed and sold the skull of the late sister of one Olorunyomi of Lisia village, Ajue.
The police boss said the suspects are currently under investigation, promising that they "would get to the root of it all."
Egbochuku also disclosed a number of murder cases in different areas of the state.
He gave the names of the victims as Ojo Olugboyega allegedly killed by one Akin Akiki following a conflict among the youths in Imoru town and one Maliki Ojo and Tawa Abugan killed in Ikare.
Late Abugan who was said to have been killed by her husband after been accused of infidelity first had her eye plucked out by her husband on the eve of the murder.
"This resulted into brain damage which eventually led to the death of the woman. The husband was arrested and he confessed committing the crime. The suspect had however been charged to court," he said.
The police boss also told journalists of arrest of armed robbers with dangerous weapons including guns; saying that in most cases, police acted on tip-off from members of the public.
