Rotary Club Honours Ugochukwu, Others Rivers From Donald Andoor in Port Harcourt Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Onyeama Ugochukwu, Abia State Commissioner of Special Duties, Mr. Chuka Odum and President, Bussdor Group of Companies, Mr. Oscar Igbokwe, have been honoured by the Rotary club of Owerri for their contributions to youth and sports development. Igbokwe, proprietor of Bussdor United Footbal Club of Port Harcourt, who spoke on behalf of others, appealed to corporate bodies and individuals in the country to invest in the development of youths. He said unlike what is obtainable in other parts of the world, corporate organisations in Nigeria do not consider the development of youth and sports a priority and stressed that if the youths were made to channel their energies into sports, there would be less time for them to instigate trouble or engage in cultism and other criminal activities. Acknowledging that he was greatly encouraged by the award and recognition for sports development, he stressed that his contributions were borne out of the desire to make the society a crime-free one by engaging youths themselves in productive sporting events.
