Seaview Properties Get New General Manager
Engr. Adesoji Olalya Olanipekun has been appointed as the new General ManagerlChief Executive Officer (CEO) of Seaview Properties Limited, a subsidiary of Nigerian Ports Authority.
The new helmsman was uuntil his present position , was the General Manager Lands & Technical Services at the Corporate Headquarters of NPA.
He took over from Engr. Umoh E. Ekwo who is now the new General Manager, Lands & Technical Services.
Engr. Olanipekun who trained as a Civil Engineer from the University of Lagos also has a Master of Science degree in Maritime Civil Engineering and a Post Graduate Diploma in Coastal Engineering from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom and University of Trondheim, Norway respectively.
A member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and registered with me Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN), he has attended several management courses locally and internationaJly.
Having joined the services of the Nigerian Ports Authority as a young omcer, he rose through the ranks having worked mrWally in all the port locations in Nigeria. Thus, at various times, he was the Chief Port Engineer, Calabar Port, Prinapat Manager Maintenance, Western Zone; Principal Manager (Civil) Abuja and Assistant General Manager (Civil) Marina Headquarters.
He was a Port Manager, Onne Port; General Manager Lands and Technical services.
On assuming duty, he said that the vision of the Company should be "to explore to the fullest the potentials in Real Estate market with a view to partnenng Government to provide affordable housing for all categories of Nigerians. To be in business to make profit but not to profiteer unlike our competitors."
It is in the light of this, that he led the Management Team on a working visit to existing properties and potential project sites within Lagos to enable it take decisive steps on improving its services.
According to him "we know where we are currendy and we have to set all strategies in motion to move to where we want to be like our counterparts in the property business to own, develop, manage and sell properties."
He opined that with such an advantage as having a Federal Government Parastatal, NPA as its parent company, the local and international publics would want to deal with the company as its credibility is not in doubt.
