YOUR LETTERS Open letter to Governor Yar’Adua I salute you for your cour age and your vision for the state despite all the false accusations and falsehood.  The reason for this open letter is to bring to your attention the activities of the Katsina emirate council.  I believe you don’t know what is going on there neither the Emir his Highness Alh Muhammadu Kabir Usman. We are advising you to please send auditors to audit the accounts of the council, and find out what is going on there. The funds to the emirate council are from public purse; therefore it is your responsibility and the general public to know how the funds are spent. My questions are, are due processes followed before the funds are spent? How much was given out to the council since 1999 to date? How much is being collected monthly?   If you inquire you will learn a lot. Another advice is that you should put the funds directly under your supervision so that whatever is going out must come to your table after you must have given approval. Or you can appoint an accountant or auditor responsible for the account. Another issue which you should look into is the appointment of the Secretary to the council. In other areas you hardly see young boys being appointed as secretaries to that council, mostly they appoint responsible people who are mature like retired civil servants or senior district heads who have the managerial ability, but Katsina is not the case, most of the appointees recently are just boys. In order to bring the past glory of the council and bring sanity, you must do something on the appointment. The Emir is a great man and a man of God, please don’t allow some selfish people to tarnish his image and the council in general for the benefit of a few. We know you are also a man of God who doesn’t want anything fishy, we believe you will do something very soon to correct the errors. Maigari Sani Majidadi   Shaiskawa Katsina,
