Addressing journalists on his 30th anniversary as a farmer, at his 40 hectares cotton plantation in Katsina State, Dan Musa lamented that the cost of fertiliser had inflicted untold hardship on farmers. Tracing the history of his farming activities, the former FCT minister, who is also a member of the board of trustees of People Democratic Party (PDP), said he bought the 40 hectares farm in 1973, the draught year, through direct purchase from Fulani herdsmen. Dan Musa said Nigeria could only achieve development in the field of agriculture if rich individuals would support Federal Government's initiatives by supporting local farmers in their communities.
