This will complement the earlier contract for the dualisation of the Ota-Abeokuta road. However, there is need to erect a flyover bridge at the Ota-Idiroko road junction, as it is not unusual to spend over one hour just to cross this junction. In addition, there is also the need to evacuate the Sango Ota market at the road junction to a safer location where all traders, including the roadside and median traders, will be taken care of. The traders, no doubt, contribute a lot to the traffic jam. Secondly, the median at Abule Egba junction of the road needs to be blocked, unless there is provision for a flyover also at this junction. Provision may then be made for U-turn at least 500 metres away in either direction, from this junction. This also applies to other major T-junctions causing traffic jam. One hopes that the Ota-Abeokuta new road under construction will bypass Ifo town, failing which the Ifo market and the Ifo town traffic will make nonsense of the dualisation project, as free flow of traffic cannot be guaranteed within the town, especially on Ifo market days.
