YOUR LETTERS NACRDB: Farmers are waiting Kindly grant me space in your widely read paper to appeal to the Hon. minister of agriculture to come to the aid of small scale farmers who applied either as cooperative societies or individuals for a micro credit loan in the micro credit loan scheme of the much touted Nigerian Agricultural cooperative and rural development bank. In preparation for this year’s cropping season, many of us applied for the micro credit loan as early as March 2004, with the hope of getting the loan in time for this year’s cropping season but up till now (August) we haven’t heard from the bank. If this loan does not come our way in the next few weeks we might as well forget this cropping season at least in our state of Katsina. It is speculated in some quarters that the NACRDB management is more interested in lodging the money in commercial banks for higher interest than granting us poor farmers. Hoping the Hon.
