Dichotomy: TROMPCON Condemns Northern Govs From Onwuka Nzechi in Warri Traditional Rulers of Oil Mineral Producing Communities of Nigeria (TROMPCON) yesterday rained knocks on the twenty two governors who recently instituted a legal suit seeking to abrogate the oil dichotomy act, describing their action as a grand conspiracy against oil producing states which is an invitation to chaos in the country. Rising from an emergency meeting of its Executive Council, drawn from the nine oil and gas producing states in Nigeria, expressed shock and disbelief at the development urging royal fathers in the North and South-western parts of the country to prevail on the plaintiffs to withdraw the suit if they must be seen to wish the country well. The controversial suit was instituted a forthnight ago by governors of the nineteen northern states and three from the south-west. Collectively they contend that the oil bearing States were unduly favoured by the act abrogating the on-shore and off-shore dichotomy principle in oil revenue allocation in the country and are praying the Supreme Court to void the act and revert to the status quo ante.
