Avoid Sharp Practice, Obasanjo Warns Investors From Josephine Lohor in Abuja President Olusegun Obasanjo warned yesterday that while his administration will continue to create better conditions for investors, it will not hesitate to take drastic action against those who engaged in sharp practices and improprieties. Speaking at a meeting with members of the Indian, Lebanese and Syrian business communities, President Obasanjo said that his administration will not tolerate the flagrant abuse of the new opportunities it was creating for more investment in the economy. "We have had to take harsh measures in the recent past. We will continue to do so if it becomes necessary." Remarking that legitimate returns on investment in Nigeria are already as high as could be obtained anywhere else in the world, the President said that government will continue to address the genuine concerns of investors and the business community in the implementation of its economic reform agenda. "There are wonderful opportunities in this country and we are trying to correct the things that are not so good".
