' Decentralise Supreme Court to Facilitate Justice' From Hammed Shittu in Osogbo An Osogbo based legal practitioner, Barrister Yinka Aderibigbe yesterday called for the decentralisation of the Nigeria supreme court so as to facilitiate access to justice and reduce the high cost of litigation. Aderibigbe disclosed this in Osogbo, Osun State capital in a lecture titled "Is Judiciary still the last hope of the common man in Nigeria" organised by the Rotary Club of Osogbo. He said "the present arrangment where cases take so many years to get disposed off by the various courts do not portend well for the administration of justice in Nigeria." Aderibigbe cited a recent land tussle which took twenty years to be determined by the court as an example, saying only few Nigerians can afford the high cost of such a long process of getting justice. While commending the present administration in Osun for implementing court judgements which were neglected by the last administration, Aderibigbe said the gesture has enhanced the development of judiciary in the state.
