Council Chairman Denies Sponsoring Violence From Jaiyeoba Andrews in Asaba Chairman of Ika South Council area of Delta State, Mr Sunny Ogwu, as denied allegations levelled against him by Abavo indigenes that he sponsored the violence in the area as a result of ward delineation. Fielding questions from newsmen yesterday in Asaba, the chairman said normalcy has returned to the area, adding that the Abavo people has returned to their various offices in Agbor, the Council headquarters. "I met the youths for discussion even when they threatened to attack me because they felt the Abavo people must have given me money and that made me to have endorsed the sharing formula on creation", Ogwu said. According to him, as the Council Chairman, his responsibility was for all Ika people and not a section of it, noting that he has never took side with any section of the council.
