Give Account of Stewardship, Legislators Urged Kwara From Tunde Sanni in Ilorin Speaker of Kwara State House of Assembly, Alhaji Issa Bio Ibrahim, has called on his colleagues to ensure that they get in touch with their constituencies and give accounts of their stewardship from time to time. Speaking at the scholarship award and distribution of exercise books to students in Owode Onire constituency in Asa Local Government Area, the Speaker stressed the need for lawmakers in giving back to the community in appreciation of the mandate bequeathed to them. The occasion was the constituency briefing of Hon. Abdullahi Duro Mohammed who represents the area the speaker admonished his colleagues to ensure that they open functional constituency offices in their areas where the electorate can contact them on issues affecting their social well-being. Ibrahim made it clear that it was a constitutional issue for legislators to hold constituency briefings in their areas where their people will be able to ask questions on the performance of their representatives in the House of Assembly. The guest lecturer, Dr. Shehu Raheem Adaramaja commended the government for earmarking a substantial vote for the educational sector, pointing out that it was the highest budgetary allocation that has ever been given to the sector in the history of the state. He noted that the budgetary allocation would enable government to construct more classrooms in_ schools, provide more instructional materials, accreditation programme and payment of bursary to students in tertiary institutions.
