Govt Advised to Implement Civil Service Rules Kwara From Tunde Sanni in Ilorin Kwara State House of Assembly has advised the state government to follow Civil Service Rules and Regulations in the disengagement of civil servants from service, to avoid wrongful dismissal or termination of appointments. State Assembly Ad-Hoc Committee on the case of wrongfully dismissed staff of the state Transport Corporation gave the advise while submitting its report to the House. The report, submitted by its Chairman, Elder Joseph Olaniyan, said the outcome would assist not only the State Transport Corporation, but also other parasatals. The report states that two of the affected officers were duly employed in accordance with the Public Service Rules and Condition of Service of the Corporation, while another, Mr. James Adefila, was seconded from the Kwara Agricultural Development Project (ADP). The committee observed that there was no disciplinary case pending against the officers and therefore decided that the affected officers have not been given fair hearing and could not be said to have been properly disengaged from service. The committee recommended that government effects the transfer and also merge the services of two of the complainants, Messrs. Abdulmumin Suleman, Malik Olokoto who are now employees of Kaiama Local Government and Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin respectively. However, Adefila who is no more in the state service, was recommended to be properly retired and paid all his entitlements.
