NCP Faults Obasanjo's Policies From Dipo Okunmuuyide in Ado-Ekiti The National Conscience Party (NCP) has described as obnoxious, policies of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led Federal Government which have crippled the nation's economy. Ekiti State chapter of the party, in a statement signed by its secretary, Mr. Obafemi Fasae, described itself as the messiah needed by the pauperised masses, adding that its leadership are respected, tested and trusted. "The NCP will not relent in NCP efforts to make Nigeria the best place for the masses because the country belongs to all of us including PDP, AD and NCP", the party added. The party in the statement stressed further that "we want to make it abundantly clear that NCP is keenly watching and keeping records of all the activities of both the state and federal governments". The release also announced that the party will hold its congress in Ado-Ekiti in preparation for active participation in the forthcoming national convention of the party. It also described Ekiti State as the base of NCP in Nigeria being the only State that produced an NCP lawmaker in the year 2003 general election and a councilor in the just concluded local government polls. According to the release, members of the party in the state under the leadership of its gubernatorial candidate in the last election, Barrister Femi Falana would be actively involved in strategizing, restructuring and repositioning of the party for the 2007 general election.
