Villa Striker Snubs Eagles Aston Villa striker Carlton Cole has said that he is not interested in playing for the Super Eagles after he was advised against such a move because it would affect his England future as well as his club career. Cole, whose father is a Nigerian, was called up by Nigeria for the recent Unity Cup in England but did not show up. And he has now disclosed that he has chosen to play for England, where he was born, than for the Eagles after his original club Chelsea advised him against featuring for Nigeria. "I was called up by Nigeria but Chelsea told me it was not in my best interest to go. They said it would affect my England future and interfere with things at club level as well," said Cole, who came face-to-face with Eagles striker Nwankwo Kanu when Villa held West Bromwich Albion to a 1-1 draw in the English Premiership on Sunday.
